plant a tree

At Oakeco we are committed to ensuring that the natural timbers used in our products come from sustainable and well managed sources.  As part of our commitment we offer our customers the unique opportunity to participate in the regeneration of the natural forests in the UK. Once you have selected your products we offer you the opportunity to donate £7.50 which will be matched by Oakeco.  This donation will be used to plant trees in partnership with the Woodland Trust.  The Woodland Trust will use the donation to plant and bring trees to maturity.  This donation will help support and safeguard the future of our native forests and wildlife.

Please look out for this donation opportunity at the checkout.

from bare land to future forests

Amazingly in just 12 years, small saplings planted on bare land will develop into thriving native woodland complete with sturdy trees big enough for you to walk under, rich ground flora, and a host of wildlife. Today the UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe and only 40% of these woods are native. Over the past 30 years the Woodland Trust has been working hard to create new native woodland throughout the UK for the benefit of both people and wildlife through the simple act of planting a tree.

Every tree we plant costs us £15 to nurture that tree to maturity. By giving to this appeal and choosing to plant trees at one of our 5 beautiful sites around the UK, you will help us to create the forests of the future, each bursting with wildlife potential.

A big impact from a small act.

why woods matter

Woods, and the trees that make up a vital component of them, are essential to life. They have a myriad of different benefits to both wildlife and people.

They stabilise the soil, generate oxygen, store carbon, play host to a spectacular variety of wildlife, provide us with raw materials and shelter, and inspire our imaginations and our creativity.

The almost magical, mystical quality of woods makes them a great place for relaxation and recreation. A walk in the woods can give anyone a feeling of peace and tranquility. Most of us have fond childhood memories of playing on or around trees.

A world without trees and woods would be barren and bare.
